Introduction of Science
Definition:-
“When
we perform some experiments then we obtain some observations and results. The
knowledge obtained from that process called Science”.
Origin:-
The
word “Science” is obtained from Latin Word “Scientia” meaning Knowledge.
Background:-
When no
particular information regarding the materials was known then all of these
materials, which were known, whether they were Sun, Moon, Earth, the Minerals,
Wood, Trees were studied under single subject called Natural Philosophy. But as
the knowledge increased it was needed to divide into further studies. With this
respect it was further divided into two parts:-
1) Physical Sciences:-
“The study of non-living things was regarded as Physical Sciences.”
2) Biological Sciences:-
“The study of living organisms
was regarded as Biological Sciences.”
Branches of Science:-
Now there are many branches of
Science, which include:-
1) Physics:-
“The branch of science which
deals with the study of matter, energy and their interaction is called Physics.”
2) Chemistry:-
“The branch of science which
deals with the study of chemical and physical properties of elements, behavior
of nuclei and chemical reactions is called Chemistry.”
3) Biology:-
“The branch of science which
deals with the study of parts of human body is called Biology.”
4) Zoology:-
“The branch of science which
deals with the study of animals is called Zoology.”
5) Botany:-
“The branch of science which deals with the study of
plants is called Botany.”
6) Astronomy:-
“The branch of science which
deals with the study of everything in space is called Astronomy.”
7) Geology:-
“The branch of science which
deals with the study of structure of Earth is called Geology.”
8) Biochemistry:-
“The branch of science which
deals with the study of chemical reactions taking place in the living organisms
and related with them is called Biochemistry.”
